Senior QA SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) Mumbai Engineering – QA / Full-time / Hybrid Apply for this job We are seeking a Senior QA SDET to take a technical leadership role in shaping the quality of R3’s product suite. As part of an agile, cross-functional engineering team, you’ll design and implement robust automated testing solutions across APIs, UI, and backend components. You'll contribute to our automation frameworks, mentor junior team members, and advocate for testability and quality throughout the development lifecycle. The ideal candidate brings solid experience in test engineering, a deep understanding of automation best practices, and a proactive mindset when collaborating across teams. Experience working with distributed systems in a cloud-native environment is key. Financial services experience is a plus, but not required. Responsibilities Lead the design, development, and maintenance of automated test cases and frameworks for functional and non-functional testing Champion quality practices within the team by advising on testability during design and implementation phases Drive testing strategies across services, microservices, and UIs for large-scale distributed systems Collaborate with developers, product managers, and DevOps engineers in Agile ceremonies to ensure test coverage aligns with business needs Contribute to the test planning and own the execution for assigned features or product areas, ensuring timely and high-quality releases Log, prioritize, and manage defects using tracking tools like JIRA Analyse test results, generate quality metrics, and clearly communicate risks and issues Mentor junior QA engineers and help drive automation best practices across teams Required Skills & Experience 4–6 years of hands-on experience in QA and test automation roles, ideally in Agile environments Strong coding skills in Java, Kotlin, or similar languages, with demonstrated experience building maintainable test automation code Proficient in using test automation frameworks and tools such as: o UI Testing: Selenium, Cypress, Appium o API Testing: REST Assured, Postman o BDD Tools: Cucumber, Serenity Solid experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions) Familiarity with cloud-native architectures and container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes Experience testing in distributed systems and microservice architectures Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Excellent communication and collaboration skills Nice to Haves Exposure to financial services, fintech, or trading system technologies Experience leading test strategy for medium-to-large projects or components Familiarity with tools like XRAY, TestRail, Grafana, Kibana, or Prometheus for test management and observability Understanding of performance, reliability, or security testing approaches What You'll Gain Opportunities to contribute and shape the test strategy for key product components The chance to help shape test frameworks and tooling direction Opportunities to mentor junior team members and contribute to QA best practices A fast-paced, collaborative team environment with modern DevOps and agile workflows Apply for this job When applying, mention the word CANDYSHOP to show you read the job post completely.
