What you’ll be responsible for:
Circle is seeking an accomplished, curious and highly collaborative candidate for a newly created position: Director, Corporate and Financial Communications. This role focuses on communicating Circle’s overall business strategy and connecting business and financial media to our story – this includes business development, public company communications and critical issues management. The leader will work alongside Investor Relations, Legal, Internal Communications and other executives to devise communication strategies, framing and positioning Circle for internal and external audiences.
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and nurturing business and financial media relationships with Tier 1 outlets (e.g. Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, New York Times). We expect you will bring a deep bench of contacts along with you. These will represent net new media relationships for Circle, and you will architect those engagements from the ground up.
Circle’s global corporate communication team is part of the Strategy and Policy organization and collaborates closely with marketing, talent, finance, product, legal and regulatory teams. This position will report to the VP, Global Corporate Communications.
What you'll work on:
Designing and executing Circle’s media strategy and PR programming for high-profile business milestones to enhance the company’s reputation with key finance and business media and other key external stakeholders.
Partnering with cross-functional teams on investor-facing communications, including an annual report.
Architecting Circle’s media engagement strategy and ongoing relationship development with global Tier 1 business and financial media.
Reconciling internal perspectives, direction and feedback to best define critical key messages, how to land them and the right moments to shout them from the rooftops.
Leading external communications for public company and other strategic engagements.
Partnering with internal stakeholders to develop off-cycle news opportunities including long form features as well as managing regular proactive and reactive media needs, with a special focus on advising the Finance organization as the team’s dedicated communications partner.
Developing executive summaries for senior leadership and the Board of Directors on peer company news, and performance based on regular monitoring and research.
Managing industry analyst relationships to support development of company strategy.

What you’ll bring to Circle:
Apart from being a good human, the ideal candidate will have extensive experience (typically 12+ years) in corporate communications or public relations, with experience supporting financial communications at a public company. A deep financial and business acumen and a technical understanding of communications and media relations.
Experience working for a publicly traded company that must operate in compliance with SEC regulations will be critical, as will proven experience deploying digital/social media. communications in support of financial/business narratives.
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Communications, Journalism or a related field and a clear and proven track record of innovative, ethical leadership.
Such trust among your media contacts that they reach out to you as a resource for information.
Competence in delivering multi-layered content and concepts in a clear, concise and compelling manner.
Motivated self-starter with a 'roll-up your sleeves,' get-it-done mentality who is able to take both guidance and initiative while also having some fun with your colleagues.
Willingness to embrace a virtual environment and ability to thrive independently.
Proven ability to create and manage a high-volume of modern, integrated communication initiatives simultaneously in a complex and fast-paced environment while remaining steadfast around details and committed to deadlines.

Starting pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to: relevant experience, skill set, qualifications, and other business and organizational needs. Please note that compensation ranges may differ for candidates in other locations.
Base Pay Range: $187,500-$240,000
Annual Bonus Target: 20%
Also Included: Equity & Benefits (including medical, dental, vision and 401(k)). Circle has a discretionary vacation policy. We also provide 10 days of paid sick leave per year and 11 paid holidays per year in the U.S.
