This is a high-impact position that calls for deep, hands-on knowledge of payment operations.
Please note that this is an initial six-month maternity cover.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
Responsible for leading and managing the Payment Operations team and function, coaching each individual team members’ ability to operate all tasks independently and act as their first point of escalation
Oversee, design and drive improvements in payment processing and payment investigation processes as well as team performance and dynamics. Do so in line with BCB priorities and customer experience , building long term capabilities with the view of scaling
Be well versed in the technical details behind all our processes, in order to identify and mitigate risks and inefficiencies. Work closely with the tech and product teams to streamline and automate
Drive, build and maintain our day to day banking partner relationships, to optimise ways of working and establish efficiency when it comes to escalating and resolving issues
Have a strong understanding of other function’s processes, and manage Payment Operations’ cross functional collaborations and knowledge sharing on a day to day basis, to achieve optimal workflows and alignment.
Be the go-to person for day to day payment related queries from other functions
Ensure all Payment Operation activities and processes comply with internal policies and external regulations, with a thorough understanding of safeguarding obligations
Support audit requirements by ensuring the function’s’ process documentation is always up to date.
Skills and Experience:
Previous experience of managing a Payment Operations team in a fintech or bank, or alternatively 5 years experience working in a Payment Operations team and ready to make the step up
Has an in depth level of knowledge surrounding end to end payment flows and payment rails such as FPS, SEPA, FEDWIRE and SWIFTStrong understanding of ISO20022 messaging, payment investigations, and exception handling
Diligent and conscientious attitude towards work, with an extreme attention to detail. Thrives in problem solving and pushing towards optimal, permanent solutions
Articulate and strong interpersonal skills, flourishes in mentoring, knowledge sharing and consistently growing team culture
Tenacious with a results and outcomes orientation, comfortable working with both front and back office functions on issues and initiatives.
