As an Anchorage Summer Intern, you will be responsible for working with a specific engineering team, designing and developing code to specs and progressing that code through the software development life-cycle into production. You will be responsible for a team project through the 12-week program that’s been planned around your skill set. You will be directly integrated into the team, attending large scale software life-cycle ceremonies and participating in requirements, design, maintenance and support discussions outside of your project. You will also have a mentor assigned who can guide you as you learn about the industry and answer any immediate questions.
Technical Skills:
Proactively demonstrates curiosity in learning about Anchorage’s technologies from managers, mentors, technical leads, and/or peers (e.g. peer reviews, code quality).
Writes, reviews, tests, and documents code according to Anchorage engineering and team standards and practices.
Complexity and Impact of Work:
Operates autonomously, yet also demonstrates the ability to ask for help as appropriate and apply it.
Can troubleshoot, debug, fix basic issues, and apply basic problem solving techniques.
Contributes to software design for their assigned intern project under direct supervision.
Organizational Knowledge:
Is able to explain what Anchorage does and can summarize and explain the top company objectives.
Understands how their own work relates to the work of a broader team/function.
Communication and Influence:
Contributes to team activities and collaborates with the team to solve problems.
Listens and speaks properly with other team members and shares standard information with colleagues, manager and other team managers or leads.
Builds stable working relationships internally.
