The Role
We are seeking a talented Technical Operations Analyst who will ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of Crypto projects for our technical and network operations teams. This is a great opportunity for someone with a passion for Blockchain, Web3 and Crypto, and an enthusiastic self-starter with strong problem-solving and excellent communication skills. This role requires a high-level of flexibility, the ability to effectively adapt to change and deal with ambiguity.
The preferred location for this role is New York City. We will consider remote locations. The role may require in-office presence from time to time.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate trading, staking and governance projects and initiatives with internal and external stakeholders
Participate directly in decentralized governance across the firmâs portfolio companies via planning, design, communication and execution of various web3 governance efforts
Establish and maintain enduring relationships with a variety of crypto ecosystem participants
Document day-to-day crypto asset operations, including the review, approval, execution, and reconciliation for crypto asset transactions both for internal custody, staking, governance and external trades
Ensure trades, operations, and reconciliations follow a well-documented procedure and record each step according to a well-defined and reviewed process
Identify & manage initiatives to improve operational processes and reduce operational risk
Monitor operational and risk metrics and escalate potential issues or anomalies
Work closely with the compliance and legal teams to execute a robust AML and KYC program related to crypto

Continuously learn about new blockchain protocols and technologies, with an emphasis on token mechanics and governance design.
Document existing and ongoing changes to all the systems and infrastructure
Update and maintain documentations and disaster recovery plan
Minimum Qualifications
3+ years experience working in operations or similar role at a crypto-forward company
3+ years experience in project management
Demonstrated interest and understanding of Web3, Crypto and Blockchain technologies
Familiarity with Python/SQL/Rust/Solidity or similar
Familiarity with command line tools, modern web technologies, cloud-based infrastructure
High Integrity individual who has an aptness for effectively prioritizing and executing tasks in a high-pressure environment
Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
Ability to work with all levels within the organization
Organized and detail-oriented
Experience managing large projects with multiple stakeholders and vendors (new systems implementations, etc.)
The anticipated salary range for this role is between $158,000-$185,000, actual starting pay may vary based on a range of factors which can include experience, skills, and scope.
This role is eligible to participate in the a16z Carry program and various discretionary bonus programs as well as benefit and perquisite plans including health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401K plan, vacation, and sick leave.
