The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced and knowledgeable
Tax Manager
to oversee all aspects of
Mexican tax compliance and reporting
. This role is critical in ensuring full compliance with local tax laws and working closely with cross-functional teams and external advisors to manage risks, optimize tax processes, and support business operations in Mexico.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Tax Compliance
- Oversee accurate and timely filing of monthly and annual tax returns, including IVA, ISR, DIOT and Payroll Tax.
- Ensure full compliance with SAT (Servicio de Administración Tributaria) regulations and electronic invoicing requirements (CFDI).
- Monitor tax reform and legislative changes; assess business impact and communicate risks and opportunities to leadership.
- Manage or support tax audits and inquiries from SAT or local authorities.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Analyze tax impacts related to business transactions and cross-border operations (e.g., related-party transactions, customs, and transfer pricing).
- Coordinate with external tax advisors for complex issues and ensure proper documentation is in place.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Partner with internal departments (Finance, Legal, HR, Operations) to ensure tax requirements are embedded in business processes.
- Collaborate with global and regional tax teams to align on reporting, transfer pricing, and internal policies.
- Support legal entity structuring, intercompany arrangements, and tax aspects of commercial agreements.
Special Projects
- Drive tax automation and process improvements to enhance compliance and reporting efficiency.
- Lead or support projects related to digital tax initiatives (e.g., CFDI 4.0, electronic accounting, tax dashboards).
Your Profile
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in
Mexican corporate tax compliance
, either in-house or in a public accounting firm
- Strong knowledge of
Mexican tax laws and regulations
, including ISR, IVA, DIOT, and SAT electronic systems
- Experience preparing or reviewing
tax provisions (NIF or IFRS)
and coordinating with auditors.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and tax software platforms (e.g., CONTPAQi, NetSuite, or similar)]Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- English proficiency is required.
