Who You Are: Galaxy is seeking a seasoned professional with expertise in Insurance and Vendor Management to oversee third-party relationships across the full vendor lifecycle. The role will lead the firm’s approach to assessing, selecting, implementing, and maintaining insurance coverage across all business functions. Additionally, this role is responsible for developing and enhancing Galaxy’s vendor oversight framework, ensuring robust performance monitoring, compliance, and risk mitigation practices. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and demonstrates a strong track record of delivering high-quality outputs in fast-paced, dynamic environments. Prior experience in the insurance sector — ideally with direct exposure to policy negotiation, compliance, and vendor due diligence — is essential. What You’ll Do: Insurance Management Responsibilities  Own the end-to-end management of all firmwide insurance policies—including coordination, procurement, renewal, and ongoing maintenance. Partner with operations, finance, legal, and business units to identify insurance requirements aligned with business needs and risk profile. Serve as the internal point of contact for all insurance-related queries, including coverage interpretation and documentation. Liaise with brokers, underwriters, and external service providers to facilitate onboarding, diligence, and policy implementation. Drive cost optimization and ensure favorable terms through negotiation and strategic review. Respond to due diligence requests from external counterparties, including Certificates of Insurance and policy detail disclosures. Oversee claims submission and collaborate with internal stakeholders to address emerging risk and control matters. Vendor Management Responsibilities Collaborate with the Vendor Management Lead to mature and enhance the vendor management function, working across multiple internal departments. Develop and implement a comprehensive vendor management policy, including supporting procedures and oversight tools. Establish a consistent and transparent intake process for all third-party vendor engagements across Galaxy. Create and maintain a vendor performance dashboard and scorecard to evaluate metrics such as cost-effectiveness, business value, service levels, and resiliency. Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for material vendor relationships and escalate concerns to mitigate risk. Develop business continuity and disaster recovery (DR) plans for key vendors. Ensure all vendor relationships are compliant with relevant regulations and security standards. Lead contract negotiations and renewals to optimize value and service terms. What We’re Looking For: Education : Bachelor’s degree in Business, Risk Management, or a related field required. Insurance Domain Experience : At least 5 years of hands-on experience as a broker, underwriter, or risk professional with a deep understanding of insurance coverage, policy structure, and contractual requirements. Vendor Management Expertise : Minimum of 3 years’ experience in vendor management, procurement, third-party oversight, or a comparable function—preferably within a regulated or enterprise-level environment. Carrier Engagement : Demonstrated track record of working with major insurance carriers, brokers, and underwriters to develop and implement insurance strategies aligned to business needs. Product Knowledge : Direct experience managing and negotiating a wide range of commercial insurance products, including but not limited to D&O, E&O, Cyber, Professional Liability, Specie, and other enterprise-level coverages. Relationship Management : Proven ability to build, manage, and optimize third-party relationships, including at the executive level, across all phases of the vendor lifecycle. Strategic Thinking & Execution : Strong business judgment and the ability to operate independently while balancing strategic priorities with hands-on execution. Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience preparing reports and presenting to senior stakeholders. Attention to Detail : Meticulous organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to manage complex workflows and deliver high-quality outputs under tight deadlines. Adaptability & Initiative : Positive, solutions-oriented mindset with a willingness to take ownership and lead in a fast-paced, evolving environment—no task is too big or too small. Technical Acumen : Proficient with tools and systems used in vendor governance, data analysis, and workflow automation; experience implementing performance dashboards and intake processes is a plus. Sector Experience : Experience in financial services and/or technology-driven environments preferred; familiarity with global and multi-jurisdictional operations is an asset. The base salary ranges included below will be commensurate with candidate experience, expertise and local market. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate experience and expertise. At Galaxy, we maintain a total compensation philosophy which consists of a competitive base salary, annual bonus, and equity incentives.
