Fireblocks’ platform and network provide the simplest and most secure way for companies to work with digital assets and it trusted by some of the largest financial institutions, banks, globally-recognized brands, and Web3 companies in the world, including BNY Mellon, BNP Paribas, ANZ Bank, Revolut, and thousands more.  What You'll Do We're looking for an experienced Senior Counsel for regulated services to support all our financial services regulated activity. This is a high-impact legal role supporting two core pillars of our regulated business: our NY DFS-chartered trust company and our payment solution through our money transmitter licensee (MTLco). You’ll be at the center of complex legal work spanning digital asset custody, institutional payments, and regulatory strategy. This strategic role involves leading negotiations with various partnerships, leading all the corporate governess work across all the company entities, and help to shape the future ecosystem of digital assets.  You'll report directly to the General Counsel, acting as a vital bridge between legal and various global teams. This is a hands-on role that requires sharp legal instincts, comfort with ambiguity, and an ability to balance regulatory rigor with business velocity. You’ll be part of a lean, highly collaborative team that operates with urgency and clarity—bringing structure to novel legal and product questions as we build the next generation of financial infrastructure. Responsibilities Represent the NY DFS trust company in legal negotiations with institutional clients for cold custody services. Structure, draft, and negotiate service agreements and infrastructure partnerships on behalf of the trust. Provide legal support for the design, buildout, and launch of payment products under both the trust and the MTL-licensed money transmission entity (MTLco). Advise internal stakeholders on licensing, and commercial implications of new products and services across both entities. Draft and manage all NY DFS submissions for both the trust and the MTLco, including supervisory filings, material change notices, and other required documentation. Support the corporate governance function for the trust, including board materials, policies, and compliance frameworks. Required Skills J.D. and active license to practice law in New York. 5–10 years of relevant legal experience, ideally a mix of in-house and law firm. Experience negotiating institutional contracts in fintech, custody, or enterprise infrastructure. Strong drafting skills, regulatory instincts, and business judgment. Ability to operate independently and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced, regulated environment. Nice to Have: Prior experience supporting digital asset custodians or money transmitters. Familiarity with NY DFS regulatory frameworks supervisory expectations, including cybersecurity and operational risk.  Nice-to-Have Demonstrate exceptional follow-through and a strong sense of ownership. Excel in written and verbal communication, clearly conveying complex legal matters. Approach challenges proactively, anticipating issues and developing effective solutions. Be highly adaptable and collaborative, embracing cutting-edge technologies to amplify Fireblocks' performance. For employees hired to work from our NYC HQ, Fireblocks is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This range is specific to New York City, and takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are reviewed when making a hiring decision, such as years of experience, skills, and other business needs. It is not typical for a candidate to be hired at or near the top of the pay range and each compensation decision is dependent on each individual case. A reasonable base salary range estimate for this position is $179,000 to $235,000. The base salary is one component of the total compensation package, which for some roles may include a target bonus, a very competitive equity grant, and very generous benefits.
