The Role We are seeking a talented Data Engineer to help build scalable data infrastructure for the Crypto team. This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about extracting, analyzing, and visualizing blockchain data.The preferred location for this role is the San Francisco Bay Area or New York City. We will consider remote locations. The role may require in-office presence from time to time.Responsibilities Build data pipelines that power internal and external applications Analyze blockchain data to support the investment team with sourcing, due diligence, benchmarking, and market research Work with our portfolio companies on various data projects Implement new AI-powered tools and processes internally Contribute to open source data projects To join our team, you should be excited to: Have a broadly defined, multi-dimensional role Work with large internal and external data sets Implement the latest AI tools and technologies into your workflows Work cross-functionally with investment and operating teams in a fast-paced environment Take ownership of your work and ensure the quality of your deliverables Minimum Qualifications 5+ years of experience in a data engineering, analytics, or data science role Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and SQL Proven experience building robust data pipelines using orchestration tools, for example with DBT and Databricks Proficiency and hands-on experience with data warehouses Experience extracting and analyzing onchain data Familiarity with crypto data platforms like Dune, Artemis, The Graph, Token Terminal, DefiLlama, and others Familiarity with smart contracts across different blockchain ecosystems Organized and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with all levels within the organization Low ego, high empathy, and the capacity to collaborate effectively with diverse teams The anticipated salary range for this role is between $225,000 - $250,000, actual starting pay may vary based on a range of factors which can include experience, skills, and scope.
